Read Write Literacy Specialists About

Hi! It’s a pleasure to introduce myself to you! I am Brenda Rodgers, owner of Read Write Literacy Services. I help students of all ages become strong readers and writers. Whether your child has a specific learning difference such as dyslexia or dysgraphia or simply needs extra support in the areas of reading and writing, I can help!

I am an Associate-level certified Orton-Gillingham practitioner and interventionist trained through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE). I have a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University and an M.Ed. in Reading Education from the University of Georgia. I am a Georgia Certified Reading Specialist and have received Georgia’s Reading Endorsement from the University of Georgia. Finally, I completed The Complete Reading Series from Georgia ETA.

My teaching experience includes teaching in Georgia and North Carolina public schools for thirteen years. Throughout those years I taught first, fourth, and fifth grades. I was also an Educational Consultant for Saxon Publishers where I trained fellow educators and presented workshops at various reading conferences.

Presently I own a private tutoring practice specializing in serving students who need extra support in reading and writing and all related subcategories (phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, and handwriting). I serve students with and without formal diagnoses of specific learning disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and specific reading comprehension deficit. Because appropriate instruction for students with dyscalculia requires a multi-sensory approach like dyslexia instruction, I also serve a small number of students with dyscalculia.

If you would like more information about tutoring services for your child, please contact me for a free consultation. I look forward to meeting you!
